VOTE Darnell Madison Sheriff of Lowndes County November 2027
Darnell S. Madison grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where early challenges and strong role models, taught him resilience, responsibility, and the importance of stepping up when others are in need. Those early experiences shaped the servant leader he would become.
Darnell studied Biblical Studies and Counseling, at Southeastern Bible College. At just 18 years old, he was appointed Assistant Pastor of New Beginning Christian Ministries in Birmingham, Alabama for nearly a decade. He delivered messages of hope, counseled families, and stood beside his community during their most difficult moments. These years established his core philosophy:
Serve first. Lead with integrity.
After Ministry, Darnell transitioned into law enforcement. Over the past decade, he has served with Columbus PD, Starkville PD, Tarrant PD, Forest Park PD, and now the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office. His work in both urban and rural communities from patrol to specialized units-has earned him a reputation for fairness, communication, and steady leadership. Together, his Ministry and policing experience give him nearly 20 Years of proven leadership rooted in service.
Darnell is running for Sheriff because Lowndes County deserves leadership that is visible, accountable, and is connected every community- Columbus, Caledonia, New Hope, Artesia, and Crawford. His guiding belief:
"Leadership isn't about power. It's about presence."
He is committed to rebuilding trust, strengthening partnerships across agencies, improving training, supporting Deputies, and creating an One Lowndes culture where every resident feels protected, valued, and heard.
