Community Centered Leadership

Community Guardian Partnership

A New Vision for Safer Businesses, Safer Events, and a Stronger Lowndes County

What does the Community Guardian Partnership Do?

The C.G.P. allows:

• Bars, lounges, and nightlife venues

• Grocery stores and retail businesses

• Banks and financial institutions

• Churches, schools, and community centers

• Apartment complexes and neighborhoods

• Festivals, charity events, and private functions

to formally request a deputy to be present on-site during the times they need it most.

This is not about policing for revenue — it’s about proactive safety, prevention, and building trust through presence, not pressure.

Why does This Matters for Lowndes County?

1. More Visibility Where It Counts

Criminals think twice when they see a uniformed deputy.

This program increases strategic deputy visibility without taking away from patrol duties.

2. Stronger Relationships With Local Businesses

Owners and employees gain a direct partnership with the Sheriff’s Office — not just when there’s a problem, but every day.

3. Safer Events & Nightlife

From high-volume bars to major community events, the presence of trained deputies keeps situations calm, controlled, and safe.

4. Faster Response Times

When issues occur, the deputy is already on site — no waiting, no delay.

5. Community Policing at Its Core

Deputies will interact, greet patrons, support staff, and be a positive presence in the community.

This is how you rebuild trust: by showing up, consistently and professionally.

How does the Program Works?

Step 1

Businesses or event organizers submit a simple request form online or through the Sheriff’s Office.

Step 2

The Sheriff’s Office reviews the request and assigns qualified deputies based on safety needs.

Step 3

Deputies arrive on site in full uniform with clear expectations:

be visible, be professional, be proactive, and be a guardian for that location.

Step 4

Community Guardian Partnership is funded by the participating business or venue. The Sheriff’s Office sets a consistent hourly rate to ensure fairness and transparency across Lowndes County.

The Bigger Message: A Safer, More United Lowndes County

The Community Guardian Program is more than extra security —

it’s a statement:

“We are present. We are accessible. We are committed to you.”
